Office Manager/Church Assistant.
The Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church (One
Hope Community) seeks a PT Office Manager to handle administrative/financial
responsibilities, and to assist the pastor with day to day operations of the church,
including hunger relief initiatives. 20 hour/week, $19/hour position, no benefits. Historic
social justice church located in Midtown Kingston NY (onehopekingston.org). Flexible
daytime hours but prefer mornings. Occasional 2-3 hours on weekends. No evening
hours. Proof of COVID vaccination required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Recording checks and making bank deposits
Maintaining church financial records
Managing church office (mail, phone messages, email)
Assisting with church day to day operations, including hunger relief projects
Ad hoc research and support as needed
Qualifications:
Computer skills: Word, Excel, google docs, gmail,
Familiarity with Quickbooks is desirable but not required
Good writing skills / able to write a professional email
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
Ability to research topics and items online
Able to lift 30 lbs. and climb stairs
Preferred candidate:
Organized, good with details and schedules
Flexible, self-starting, assertive, “pitch in and help” person
Open to new situations and tasks
Friendly, interacts positively with a range of persons and professional situations
Has or working towards a community college, college degree, or equivalent
Can provide 2 professional references
